With the 2018 elections fast approaching, Zimbabweans across the globe desire to see the end of the 37 years dictatorial rule of ZANU PF, and the only way this can be done is by unity. Over the years ZANU PF has been able to remain in power by using the divide and rule strategy, but this come to an end in 2018 as a number of political parties have decided to put their differences aside and come together to form one party that will defeat ZANU PF in the forth coming election.
5 August 2017 marked the beginning of a new era in Zimbabwean politics as the country witnessed the birth of MDC Alliance led by Morgan Tsvangirai at the famous Harare Gardens in Highfields. The alliance is made up if Movement for Democratic Change – Tsvangirai (MDC-T), Movement for Democratic Change – Ncube (MDC-N), People Democratic Party (PDP), Transform Zimbabwe (TZ), Zimbabwe People First (ZPF), Zimbabwe African National Union – Ndonga (ZANU Ndonga) and Zimbabwe Opposition Political Party. In the 2018 election, President Tsvangirai will represent all the parties as the presidential candidate and the parties agreed on areas they would be contesting so as to reduce vote splitting, and this might just see the end of the ZANU PF rule.
