MDC Slough rose to the challenge and donated foodstuffs to the Slough foodbank Bangol
The donation was due to a challenge made by the the branch Women Assembly Chairperson Ms Iline Manhunzi at an MDC-High Wycombe/Slough branch meeting held on the 7th August 2017. Ms Manhunzi challenged women to actively participate in programmes taking place in the community where the party branch is situated. She urged party members to lend a helping hand whenever and wherever such assistance was needed. To this end she mooted the idea that party members contribute donations to Food bank in any kind. Foodbank is an organisation that provides emergency food to people experiencing crisis situations in the UK.
On the 4th September her wishes came to fruition. The branch donated food stuffs and funds to the Foodbank Bankol. Many thanks go to the following MDC members; Sipiwe Gladys Dube, Happiness Chidarikire, Grace Nyaumwe, Virginia Mutyambizi, Deborah Harry, Jestina Jenami, Eunice Mucherechedzo, Anna Mwanza,Rosemary Ribatika, Manya Mary Ndoro, Vimbai Karumbidza , Pride Stewart Nyandoro and Constance Munyimani for donating food and other groceries which included; pasta sauce, tinned fruits, milk and washing-up liquid. Cash contributions were received from Jacqueline Chirunga, Shailet Manyange, Anna Pfende, Mandifusa Mushambadope and Erica Mukosha and Anna Munyimani.
In attendance to accept the donation was the Foodbank Bankol Slough Manager.
The donation was made possible due to the full support of the party and will go down as a great success that party members should be proud to have been part of.
Being from a country where the majority suffers from oppression and deprivation of basic necessities by the Government many party members are familiar with not being able to put anything on the table for their families and therefore they appreciate know how just a little can go a long way. We believe that this humble gesture will go some way in aiding those in immediate need of assistance and nourishment.
